In 2019 I travelled in the United States with Moritz Winiger, aiming to produce a documentary on indigenous wisdom and healing. We were invited by Izzi & Adam, twi friends and indigenous brothers. They dedicate their life to their organisation, called 'Ancestral Medicine Revival', which really says it all. During out travels, we met a lot of incredible people and had to capture some of what they had to share. Instead of a trailer, we shot a series of mini-documentaries, in order to capture the essence of what we were trying to share. Sadly Covid-19 made it impossible for us to return to the States to shoot the main film and the project has since been on ice.

"How do we most serve life? Permaculture is really just permanent and culture. Something that is sustaining indefinitely and that supports human life. I think all communities everywhere, when you get to the root of it, we want to have a permanent approach to serving life, in all of its variety. It’s not just about human life, we gotta find ourselves in that beautiful web of interrelations".

We met Michael Cundick last September 2019 in Salt Lake City. We are focusing our lens primarily on how using indigenous wisdom as medicine can offer healing to all. Though not indigenous, Michael’s work offers a lot of healing to his community in the Salt Lake valley. Apart from being a musician, his political motivations to become Salt Lake City County Mayor with the Green Party of Utah, his tireless commitment to have people’s student loans ‘forgiven’, Michael’s primary focus in life is permaculture. His aspirations of harmonising with each other and the earth can be felt strong is this work. It’s here, where we’re coming back full circle, as the roots of permaculture can be found in indigenous land management. I hope you will enjoy watching this film as much as we have enjoyed making it.
